About This Tool

Leucochrysa, a beneficial insect of the suborder Leptoptera, having a small to the medium-sized body, slender and delicate, grassy green, yellow, or grayish-white. Antennae are filiform. The compound eyes are far apart and have a metallic luster. The chest has a pair of stink glands, commonly known as the grass dragonfly or lacewing. Depending on species and environment, some lacewings eat only about 150 aphids in their lifetime, while others can eat up to 100 aphids in a week. As a result, in some countries, one million such insects have been bred for agricultural and horticultural biological pest control.
