(#1) He's Trying to Get an Official Pardon for His Felony
A 16-year-old Wahlberg assaulted Hoa "Johnny" Trinh so violently that he faced attempted murder charges. (Wahlberg also thought that he permanently blinded the man in one eye, but that injury was sustained during the Korean War). He plead guilty and was sentenced to prison for two years (of which he served 45 days), but would forever have felony charges on his record.
Recently Wahlberg has come out seeking a full pardon, stating he's turned his life around and has become a good influence. Even the victim, Johnny Trinh, is in support of the pardon.
“My hope is that, if I receive a pardon, troubled youths will see this as an inspiration and motivation that they too can turn their lives around.”

(#8) He Made a Workout Video in the Marky Mark Days
Mark Wahlberg went in to prison a scrawny kid, but worked out hard for nearly two months to pass the time. It's no wonder he went on to become famous for posing in his underwear, become an action star, and start a line of workout supplements. It's also no surprise that at some point in the early days, he made a super '90s workout video. It's wonderful. POW!

For some reason people tend to confuse Matt Damon with Mark Wahlberg. They've both agreed that whenever someone thinks they're the other, they have to be on their very best behavior so as to not ruin either reputation. Matt will even sign autographs "Mark Wahlberg" and Mark will sign "Matt Damon."

David O Russell's The Fighter was revered by critics and audiences alike, but it very nearly didn't get made. For years Wahlberg pushed to tell the story of 'Irish' Mickey Ward from Lowell Mass and endured countless rewrites, multiple directors, and actors coming in and out of the project (everyone from Brad Pitt to Matt Damon was attached before Bale came on).
He kept the film going for more than four years, training with Freddie Roach (Pacquiao's coach) in a full gym and boxing arena he built in his basement for the film. He even got Christian Bale cast as his brother Dicky. Their kids go to school together and he asked him one day if he was interested... that role later got Bale an Oscar.

Remember in the early days of video games when there would be (horribly rendered) pre-shot video that you could "edit" together to form a music video or action scene? Yeah, the Funky Bunch had one of those! It's on plenty of "worst games of all time" lists. Despite the band's success, the game never took off.

Mark Wahlberg bought an $8 million mansion in Beverly Hills in 2009 and then spent five years perfecting it. It's 30,000 sq feet of glory. There's a water park, an indoor gym, and a home theater. Plus a full size basketball court and a putting green. Oh yeah, and then there's the private library and guest house. Jealous?
