  • Mysterio Has A Fantastic Surprise Identity on Random Fan Theories About How MCU Will Pull Itself Together And Continue Post-'Endgame'

(#12) Mysterio Has A Fantastic Surprise Identity

Update: Debunked. Not only is Mysterio definitely not Reed Richards, he's also not even from another Earth. He's a disgruntled former employee of Stark Industries, and a certified villain.

    * * *

Most fans with a passing knowledge of Spider-Man comics don’t believe that the Mysterio presented in Far From Home trailers is legitimately a hero from an alternate Earth - or at least not the hero he claims to be. While most theories about Mysterio predict his eventual reveal as a duplicitous villain, some fans believe he really is from elsewhere in the Multiverse - but they still don't think he's the real Mysterio.

Redditor /u/Mookie89 has theorized that the Mysterio portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal in Far From Home is actually Reed Richards, a founding member of the Fantastic Four. However, Redditor /u/Wildmansy notes that Mysterio’s powers are similar to those of Victor von Doom.

  • Adam Warlock Has The Infinity Stones on Random Fan Theories About How MCU Will Pull Itself Together And Continue Post-'Endgame'

(#14) Adam Warlock Has The Infinity Stones

There are many who believe the Infinity Stones aren't really gone from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thanos claims to have obliterated them in Avengers: Endgame, but no passing is really permanent in a comic book universe - even that of a cosmic object. A fan theory by Redditor /u/dannyjerome0 posits that the Stones are actually in the possession of Adam Warlock, a character who traditionally possesses them in the pages of Marvel Comics.

The idea that Warlock could show up and get involved with the Infinity Stones is a solid one, especially since he is hinted at in a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 post-credits scene. The theory also suggests that when Thanos says he reduced the Stones to “atoms,” he's using a double-entendre for “Adam’s;” however, that may be a Reed Richards-worthy stretch of the imagination.

  • The Snaps Created Mutants on Random Fan Theories About How MCU Will Pull Itself Together And Continue Post-'Endgame'

    (#3) The Snaps Created Mutants

In Avengers: Endgame, Rocket notes that Thanos’s initial universe-dusting snap released an unprecedented wave of gamma energy - and then two further snaps occurred over the course of the film. That means the planet Earth has now been bathed in cosmic radiation on three separate occasions over a five-year period - and that’s the sort of thing that could lead to mutations.

Since the Disney/Fox merger went through, fans have been on tenterhooks waiting for an announcement of the X-Men and their mutant ilk joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Many, including Redditor /u/SirNekk, believe the seeds have already been planted. The Infinity Stones might be gone, but their lasting legacy could be the creation of mutants in the MCU, including characters like Wolverine, Cyclops, and Storm.

  • The Multiverse Is Coming, And Captain Britain Will Be There To Protect It on Random Fan Theories About How MCU Will Pull Itself Together And Continue Post-'Endgame'

(#10) The Multiverse Is Coming, And Captain Britain Will Be There To Protect It

In Spider-Man: Far From Home, Mysterio allegedly comes from an alternate Earth within the Multiverse - and that’s opened things up for all sorts of dimension-bending fan theories on the future of the MCU. Many fans believe the Multiverse is coming in some form or another - whether Mysterio is telling the truth about it or not - and Redditor /u/insane_ravager thinks they know the character who will find themselves at the center of such an upcoming arc.

There have been several recent references to Brian Braddock - the Marvel Comics character known as Captain Britain - in the MCU. In Avengers: Endgame, Peggy Carter refers to someone with the last name “Braddock.” In the Far From Home trailer, Mysterio claims to come from Earth-833 - an Earth in which Spider-Man and Captain Britain are one and the same. These hints could be building up to Captain Britain’s eventual arrival. On top of that, he’s traditionally portrayed as the protector of the Multiverse in the pages of Marvel Comics.

  • Black Widow’s Solo Film Will Take Place Within The Five-Year Time Gap on Random Fan Theories About How MCU Will Pull Itself Together And Continue Post-'Endgame'

(#11) Black Widow’s Solo Film Will Take Place Within The Five-Year Time Gap

Natasha Romanoff’s demise in Avengers: Endgame provides one of the film’s most impactful moments - and it may also have a huge impact on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of the few confirmed films on the slate for Phase Four is a Black Widow solo adventure, and that’s obviously complicated by Romanoff’s untimely passing. Redditor /u/Wizardplum, however, thinks they’ve figured out how Marvel Studios is going to pull it off.

The five-year time gap in Endgame results in several changes for the characters left alive after Thanos’s snap. Specifically, Black Widow becomes the head of a galaxy-wide intelligence agency while the rest of the world is falling apart. The fan theory posits that the Black Widow film will take place during this time period, telling the story of how Romanoff became one of the planet’s greatest heroes before giving her life to protect it. Redditor /u/Wizardplum explains, "During this time period we get to see how Banner becomes Professor Hulk and how Nat becomes the essential stand-in for Nick Fury that we see in Endgame."

  • Morgan Stark Will Carry Her Father’s Mantle on Random Fan Theories About How MCU Will Pull Itself Together And Continue Post-'Endgame'

(#4) Morgan Stark Will Carry Her Father’s Mantle

Tony Stark may be gone, but he’s left behind a powerful legacy - quite literally so in the case of his daughter Morgan. While the youngest Stark is at least decade away from doing any superheroing of her own, the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t going away anytime soon, so there’s plenty of time for Morgan to take up her father’s mantle as the new Iron Man.

According to a theory by Redditor /u/RyanS148, Morgan Stark will take the name Ironheart - a moniker carried by a young girl in the pages of Marvel Comics who was inspired by Tony Stark. Morgan’s appearance in Pepper’s helmet in Endgame could foreshadow Morgan eventually suiting up one day.
