(#10) Sandy Furness
Sandy Furness is Logan Roy's biggest corporate rival, and he was all too happy to participate in the plot to overthrow Logan when Kendall came calling. He's got the capital, the chops, and the desire to take Logan Roy down. Sandy Furness at the helm of Waystar would be a natural, and logical, fit.
(#12) Stewy Hosseni
- Succession
Stewy's a member of the Waystar board, and he's unapologetic about the fact that his allegiances lie wherever, and with whomever, the purse strings are held, whether that be a Roy or a competitor like Sandy Furness. In the event of a vote of no confidence or an external hostile takeover, it isn't hard to imagine Stewy emerging in full leadership of the company.
(#3) Sibhan Roy
- Succession
In the Season 2 premiere, Logan tells Shiv she will be his successor, but the assurance takes place behind closed doors. Shiv, the only Roy daughter, remained largely out of the race for Waystar control in the first season, but that isn't to say she isn't the woman for the job. Shiv's competent and cutthroat in her work as a political advisor. She'd make an intelligent, agile heir for Logan Roy.
(#8) Lawrence Yee
- Succession
Put mildly, Lawrence Yee has a contentious relationship with the Roy family, particularly Kendall. After having his own successful media company, Vaulter, acquired by Waystar, Lawrence becomes a member of the Waystar board. He's ruthless; he has it out for Kendall; he's an industry vet with a board vote: Lawrence could certainly take on the responsibilities of Waystar leadership.
(#6) Roman Roy
- Succession
Obviously, Roman Roy's made some mistakes with the power he's been given. But, at the same time, Roman's hungry for more responsibility at the company, and he eagerly accepts the projects and positions thrown his way. That, and he never votes against his father, illustrated perhaps most crucially when he's a "no" in the no-confidence vote against Logan orchestrated by Kendall. Roman's loyalty to his father and the company make him a strong, albeit unintuitive, heir.
(#5) Gerri Killman
- Succession
Granted, Gerri's beat is as legal counsel to Waystar's top brass. But Gerri also knows how the Waystar sausage gets made, and she was more than willing to participate in the clandestine conversations that led to the no-confidence vote against Logan. While she's an outside chance, Gerri certainly has the industry know-how - and the dirt on the Roys - to take over the company.
