Located in Spain, Disaster Cafe lets you know what it feels like to be going about your day and suddenly experience an earthquake. Most of the restaurants on this list are odd for a single, fairly clear reason, but Onkel Taa is odd in a number of ways. Its most distinguished claim to fame is as a museum, boasting one of the largest collections in the world related to Germany's Habsburg dynasty.
The museum also contains several fossilized snails and other mollusks, which makes sense, because the restaurant's owner is totally obsessed with snails. Almost everything on the menu contains snails, and there is actually a snail-breeding facility located on the property. Just for an extra dash of weirdness, the property also boasts a mineral water spring, which supposedly has healing powers.

You may have thought Barbie was big in North America, but apparently she's really, really big in Taipei, Taiwan. Similar to Beijing's Hello Kitty Dream Cafe, Taipei's Barbie Restaurant is drenched in Pepto Bismol pink, and features waitresses, menu items, and decor inspired by the popular plastic doll.
