Lisbeth Salander (played by Rooney Mara in the American film) is an anti-social computer hacker with a bad attitude from Stieg Larsson's book The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and David Fincher's thriller of the same name. Salander is covered in tattoos, dresses in a goth style, and has multiple body piercings. She certainly looks like a badass, and is even considered by some to be a sociopath.
But Salander is a fighter with a straight moral compass, and even though she's had a traumatic life filled with abuse, she is able to help uncover a murder mystery, using her expert computer skills.
